Tiny VowA small vow

ON-DEVICE DATA · CLEAR PERMISSIONS · EXPORT AND DELETE

Keep core records on your device and the data boundary in your hands

Screen time can reveal intimate details about daily life, so local-first is a product boundary in Tiny Vow, not a decorative slogan. Core usage data stays on your device by default and is not automatically uploaded to Tiny Vow's own service simply because you enable reports or app limits.

FEATURES

What you can do

01

Core data stays local

Groups, limits, points, rewards, usage history, focus sessions, and themes remain on the device by default.

02

Permissions have a clear purpose

Usage and Accessibility access serve defined features such as reports, limits, points, and local prompts.

03

Your data is manageable

Export a local report or recoverable backup, and clear local data when you choose.

IN PRACTICE

How it works

What local-first covers

Vow and positive groups, app relationships, the point ledger, reward inventory, redemption history, daily archives, offline focus, custom themes, and local backups are stored on the device by default. Tiny Vow does not sell screen time data or use it to build advertising profiles.

Some capabilities you actively choose can interact with a platform or external service—for example, Google Play processes purchase status, and a WeRead API configuration lets the app request authorized statistics directly. These optional boundaries do not turn local usage history into default cloud sync.

Sensitive access is not unlimited access

Usage access calculates foreground app time, limits, reports, points, and reminders. Accessibility recognizes foreground app changes, shows limits you configured, and enforces offline-focus whitelist rules.

It does not read screen text, capture input, perform clicks, or change system settings. Notifications, media notifications, and activity recognition are used only for their corresponding local features, and declining an optional permission does not remove the core groups and reporting model.

Reports, backups, and deletion start with you

You can export a human-readable local data report or create a local recoverable backup. Historical snapshots preserve the facts that applied then rather than silently changing after a group is renamed.

When needed, you can clear local data or follow the published account and website-data deletion paths. You control backup files, so they should be handled with the same care as other personal records when shared or transferred.
